The Tasman Thunder Stock Car Team will make a welcome return on Coca-Cola Fireworks Night at Milestone Homes Top of the South Speedway, facing old rivals the Canterbury Crushers in three teams’ races throughout the evening.
Team captain Adam Hall will be joined by Toby Walker, Kohu Whalon, Riley Eathorne, Brenton Coleman, Andre Evans, Matt Inwood and Jack Rarity in the newly-formed Tasman Thunder line-up.
They’ll take on a strong Crushers side led by Jay Holtham, current joint South Island Super Stock champion and a member of the Glen Eagles team that won in Palmerston North last year. He’ll be backed by experienced teams’ racers Dave Houston Jnr and Troy Cleveland, along with new team members Kahu Agnew, Sam Jack, Braden Lawton and Caleb Adam.
The Thunder’s return marks a resurgence for the team, with several drivers back on track and new talent stepping up as the grade continues to grow. The team also plans to compete at the Mainland Teams title in Christchurch this December.
The night promises plenty of big hits and sparks on the track before the sky lights up with the annual Coca-Cola Fireworks display - Tasman’s major fireworks event of the year.
It’s set to be a fun family night, brought to the community by Nelson Garage Doors. Gates open at 5pm, racing from 6pm. Pre-sale tickets are available online or at Richmond Mall.
