A three-vehicle crash has occurred on Main Rd Hope, between White Rd and Ranzau Rd, on Wednesday afternoon.
No serious injuries were reported.
Police say they were called to the crash around 3pm, and that south and north bound traffic is temporarily using a single lane on a stop-go system.
Motorists are advised to expect long delays and avoid the area where possible.
A Hato Hone St John spokesperson says two ambulances, one rapid response unit and one operations manager responded to the scene.
“Our ambulance crews treated and transported one patient in a moderate condition to Nelson Hospital and assessed three other people in a minor condition at the scene.”
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
